It’s known that the space where Polar Studios were installed was rented. Was it ever known why Polar Music never bought it outright?

It appears that over the years the ownership of the entire building where the studio was located had been taken over by the residents (I assume some sort of co-op situation). All the I know about the studio and its closure is in Bright Lights Dark Shadows – The Real Story of ABBA and ABBA – The Complete Recording Sessions.

Is there really an ABBA song called ‘I Just Wasn’t Thinking’ that was recorded in 1988?

No. It was one of four titles that appeared in an ABBA fanzine around 1987/88, along with ‘It’s Alright Darling’, ‘It’s Been Swell’, and ‘Something On My Mind’. The original source of these four titles has never been traced.

Are the vocals on the released ‘Just A Notion’ from the original recording or are they new vocals?

Yes, the vocals are the original 1978 recording, mixed differently from the version released in 1994. The musical backing is all new. Only the two lines in the coda ‘I think it’s more than a notion / In a moment that dream is about to come true’ are new recordings.

I am trying to find a copy of the Ring Ring sheet music songbook. I know this book exits because it is listed in the catalogue of the National Library of Sweden. The full title is: Ring Ring [Musiktryck] : Björn, Benny & Agnetha, Frida : 11 melodier inspelade av Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Frida. The songs are arranged for voice and piano; with chords. The book has 30 pages and was published by Union Songs, Stockholm, in 1973. Any hint on where to find this book is very much appreciated!

That music folio is quite rare and doesn’t come up for sale very often. Most often it comes up on Tradera Swedish auction site. That’s one I’ve been looking for myself for many years.
