On the July 2019 questions and answers, I mentioned an ABBA fan-site that supposedly did “comedic song names for the budget Take A Chance On Me (2006) CD”, which you were unable to identify. However, I recently found out that I was referring to a (defunct) fan-site called “ABBA – The Albums”, namely this page: https://felpin80.tripod.com/ata/scroll2.html#anchor331743

Thanks for finding that, Aaron. The link you sent was in the Internet Archive. I found the site you were looking for is still active, but hasn’t been updated for a few years. How odd but amusing.

I bought a German compilation LP The Fantastic ABBA. A few songs sound different in mastering. But…. ‘Ring Ring’ is completely different from every album and CD. Vocals has more vibrate. But also different vocals. Is this welknown. Or something released as mistake?
Greets from Holland, Jaap
This album was a record club release in West Germany and Austria in 1976. I don’t have it myself, but as I understand it contains the 1974 single remix of ‘Ring Ring’, which was released on single in the UK and several other countries, and these days is available on the Waterloo Deluxe Edition CD and The Definitive Collection.
I used to have jpegs of short Q&As with handwritten answers by the ABBA members, covering basic stuff like favourite food/colour etc. I have a vague memory that they came from an Australian fan magazine (1976?), but I could be way off. Over the years and various disk crashes, I seem to have lost them – and the internet is much bigger than it used to be, so although I’m sure they are out there somewhere, Google is mostly showing me stock photo sites rather than fan sites.
There used to be a network of ABBA fan sites where people had saved this sort of stuff – do such sites still exist, and if so, where would you start? (I never thought I’d miss Geocities, but here we are.)
Thanks, Briony
I do remember seeing those images, and thought I had them saved myself, but can’t find them. There have been a few different versions of those questionnaires published over the years, including the ones published in the Facts section here (click on each individual member). Maybe one of our readers can find those handwritten versions you’re asking about.
Will any new publications from Anni-Frid Lyngstad/Frida be available in the future?
Best wishes… take care
Wolfgang, Germany
There is no news of any new releases from Frida.
