I remembering reading somewhere that ‘Put On Your White Sombrero’ was meant to be the opening track on Super Trouper instead of the title track. In another factoid, the title “Super Trouper” had already been decided before that song was even recorded, which means that (if the above is true) Super Trouper almost broke the rule of every ABBA album requiring a title track (naturally ignoring ABBA and The Album). Is there any further evidence to back this up?

The album tracklist probably wasn’t finalised until all songs were completed. ‘Put On Your White Sombrero’ was dropped from album contention before all the songs were finished, so it was probably never considered as the album opener. Super Trouper was indeed chosen as the album title before there was any song with that name, following the cover photo session (the theme was “circus”, with no title in mind). The phrase just happened to fit the hook of a song that Benny and Björn were working on as a potential lead single for the upcoming album. Incidentally, Arrival had also been selected as the album title before it was applied to a completed instrumental track that had gone under the name ‘Ode To Dalecarlia’.

Why is ‘No Doubt About It’ included on The Singles – The First Ten Years? It wasn’t a single anywhere.

‘No Doubt About It’ was promoted as a radio single in February 2022, and also released as a digital single worldwide on 11 February.  A media release was published at the time but doesn’t seem to have been widely spread.

Is there any news about the third anniversary of ABBA Voyage in London? I’m planning a trip to London and need to know what’s happening.

According to an email sent out at the start of November, the third anniversary show is on Tuesday 27 May 2025. As yet tickets have not gone on sale and there is no news on what will happen that night. Tickets are likely to be available from the Members Hub before general sale, so if you’re not a member now is the time to sign up. FYI, the 1,000th concert is on Friday 31 January 2025.
